Summer Internship at SILP Lab

Application Process

Purpose of Internships:

We encourage applicants from skilled and motivated young people to serve as interns at SILP. The purpose of the internship is to provide an opportunity for individuals to substantively contribute to and learn from our work. The intern will be given specific tasks and responsibilities and will be challenged to develop their capabilities and gain experience. The intern is expected to be flexible and to take part in various discussions and presentations in the lab.

SILP Lab’s work is organized into three main areas. These are – Signal Processing, Image Processing, and Language Processing.

Requirements:

We expect applicants to be pursuing at least B.E. or B.Tech.; and Masters degree students are encouraged. We are looking for interns who are committed, hard-working, positive, open-minded, reflective and willing to learn. In summer internship we expect to host not more than 20 interns.

Internships are open to everyone. We will seek to find a balance between the interest of the lab and the interns, and will look for a diversity of interests, backgrounds, and experiences.

Time Commitment:

8 weeks – 14th May, 2017 to 23rd July, 2017.

Conditions:

Internships are on a voluntary basis, and no payment is provided. In some cases, scholarships could be provided based on Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad norms. A shared lab space will be provided. The intern is wholly responsible for all costs related to health, accommodation and travel/visa expenses. SILP assumes no liability for any accident, ill health or other misfortune that may occur.
